BSM 492 Walden University Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Paper
This is for continuation of the project in which you selected Artifical Intelligence in Healthcare. I have attached the previously submitted work here as well. Here you will create the Table of Contents and the Introduction section. Please ensure that each of the areas are covered for the introduction section as outlined in the detailed instructions below.
At this point, you should have your problem and research design clarified and should have reviewed literature sources relating to your research. You are ready to write the introduction section of your research paper. You will need to submit the title page and a page with the heading for the Table of Contents. Since you have not completed the paper at this point, you will not have the page numbers available. However, you can provide a preliminary layout for your table of contents.
The Introduction will include the following information:
Problem statement
Research Objectives
applies critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in collecting, evaluating, and analyzing data and information relating to the research topic
applies healthcare management concepts (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) in developing and presenting viable, effective, and acceptable conclusions/recommendations relating to the topic.

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
Statement of Problem
Across the United States, health organizations are facing a challenge on how to
harness advanced health technology in the delivery and administration of healthcare services.
The harnessing of advanced health technology such as artificial intelligence-based systems is
expected to drive improvement in healthcare management and delivery utilizing algorithms to
analyze patient information. Some of the healthcare organizations that have integrated AIbased systems ate already experiencing its benefits in improving the experience of the
healthcare providers, allowing them to spend more time with direct patients thus reducing
burnout. Yu, Beam & Kohane (2018) demonstrate that artificial intelligence is slowly
transforming healthcare practice. The application of AI in healthcare would help doctors
enhance diagnosis, treatment, monitoring of the patient, and management of care delivery
services among other benefits. The application of advanced health technology such as AIbased systems seems to have endless benefits in healthcare delivery and administration. In
order to increase productivity and improve the efficiency of care delivery and management to
allow the healthcare system to offer more as well as better care to more people, AI-based
systems should be integrated into the healthcare system.
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this research is to explore the benefits of AI-based systems in
healthcare delivery and management. In order to gain an in-depth understanding of the
benefits of AI application in healthcare delivery and management scholastic research will be
imperative in this study. The results of the previous research on AI in healthcare would be an
essential foundation for informing healthcare organizations in America on how the
integration of AI-based systems would benefit the healthcare system in terms of increasing
production and efficiency in service delivery and management. The results of a study
conducted by Jiang et al. (2017) reveal that AI is bringing a framework of change in
healthcare, driven by the increased availability of healthcare data and rapid advancements in
analytics techniques.
The study would also examine ethical and legal issues associated with the integration
of artificial intelligence-based systems in healthcare. This research is crucial as its results
would expose healthcare organizations to the benefits they will have with the integration of
AI-based systems as they strive to enhance care delivery and management. This study is also
essential since it would expose ethical and legal issues the healthcare organizations in the
United States are likely to encounter when integrating AI-based systems to improve service
delivery and healthcare administration. The limitation of this study is that it would only focus
on the benefits health organization would have with the application of AI-based systems and
the ethical and legal issues they are likely to encounter, therefore, another research study
would be required to provide information on the drawbacks of AI in healthcare.
Research Strategy (Sources and Methods of Data Collection)
The data for this study would be collected from various healthcare organizations in
the United States and literature materials on the topic of AI application in healthcare. The
data for this research would be collected using qualitative techniques such as through inperson interviews conducted that would be conducted to healthcare providers across different
healthcare organizations in the United States. In scenarios whereby in-person interviews will
not be possible the data for this study would be collected through online surveys which would
be sent to practicing healthcare providers across various organizations in the United States.
Random sampling techniques would be used to select the healthcare organizations that would
be included in this study. The sample of these healthcare organizations would be based on
certain variables such as the geographical location of the organization. The data gathered
from this study would be analyzed using narrative and content analysis techniques. The
3
narrative analysis would be essential for understanding the interviews with the respondents
while content analysis would be significant for examining various literary texts that would be
used in this study. The research is expected to deliver results that would be critical for
understanding the benefits of AI-based systems in healthcare care delivery and
administration. The results would be essential for an in-depth understanding of ethical
concerns associated with the application of AI-based systems in healthcare.
